Winners of Maire Dodd's Stamped Spoon Theory Spoons

If you haven't read "The Spoon Theory" by Christine Miserandino, you really need to, even if you've never been sick a day in your life. The story tells how those who live with a chronic illness, or even a short-term-but-never-the-less-daunting short-term illness, have to be careful about how they parcel out what they can do in a day.

The original post appeared on my nascent blog, but as it's just getting started, I wanted to share it here as well, since so many of you have followed my journey. This giveaway is a cross over from my new blog about Lyme disease and other invisible diseases -- My friend Maire Dodd, who some of you know, created special imprinted spoons for the launch of the blog, and I am very grateful to her for her selflessness and her friendship.

Each spoon is vintage and is stamped by Maire with the words "inner peace". Side note - I have no idea how she stamped so well on a concave surface, but that's Maire. She can do major things with her hammer! They're adorned with natural rose quartz and twine and a spoon is going out to the following people:

Jean from Pretty Kitty Dog Moon Jewelry

Mimi from Baubles, Beads, & Other Curiousities

I'll email each of your for a shipping address.

Please pass along both blogs

to your friends!

I also opened a Facebook page just for Lemon Sugar Hold the Lyme,
which can be found at

This blog will begin again its journey through books, beads, Zack, vintage goodies, and funny things. I'm not saying there won't be a sad post from time to time, but I'd like to make this place happy, and even the Lyme blog happy. I hope that it will grow, with your help, and become a place where people of like minds can commiserate, help each other, laugh, share stories and successes, and boost each other up.

No more being alone.
There's a place to go, and it's

  1. I feel so blessed to have won one of these spoons, Lori. Many thanks to you and Marie! <3 Besides fighting my own battles with migraines and fibro, my husband was recently diagnosed with both a colloid cyst in his brain and an aneurysm. Definitely looking for reminders of inner peace these days...thank you.

  2. Congratulations winners of the spoons. May you be blessed with all things good and well. Lori you are such a kind and wonderful soul.

  3. Dear Lori,
Thank you so much! And thank you to Marie as well--what a talented and wonderful friend she is!
I look forward to reading your blog, which has already uplifted me more than you know. That is because you are one of those people, Lori, who has the ability to share, during the good days and even on the difficult days, just what we need to hear to keep going, even when times are rough.
I look forward to blogging about this.
I am proud to be a dedicated spoonie :) and proud to call you my friend!
All love and again, many thanks, Jean xoxox

  4. Congrats so much to the winners! These spoons are a wonderful reminder to savor your own inner peace.
