I started the trip by burning several CDs of my favorite music -- a very eclectic mix of tunes from Depeche Mode to Nine Inch Nails to tango music. I chronicled the start of the trip with a photo...
I was a little tired and couldn't muster a smile, but I was smiling on the inside.
I really did have fun! I got to see Jen Judd again, and meet Elisabeth Auld for the first time. They're sweet as pie and absolutely hilarious. I love meeting blog friends in real life! I also got to talk to Barbara Lewis again and take a few photos of her oh-so-colorful booth....

amazing enameled beads |

beautiful cording |
Barbara had a booth across from Yvonne of My Elements -- Genea included some of Yvonne's fun findings in her Cup of Bead Soup package. Her booth is a feast of fun...
I have to show you a few things I bought. I always buy (and hoard) Joan Miller's ceramic beads. This time, she had owls (shriek!!!!) and coffee mugs. Love love love.
:Left Owl: Did you drink my coffee? :Right owl, looking away: What? Hoooo me? |
![]() |
These are nice and chunky -- I'm thinking of putting these in a necklace for myself. |
As for the ring class on Sunday -- I'm so disappointed. I woke up at 3am with (you guessed it) a killer migraine. I stayed in the room in the dark until check-out and then limped my way home. Now, I always use my turn signal. But holy Hannah. When your head hurts as much as mine did, that turn signal was like exploding a hand grenade at close range. Jiminy Christmas. I had to forgo that particular law-abiding gesture.
So after sleeping off the migraine, I got up and put together some giveaways for you! Instructions for entering are below, but for now, take a look at each lot up for grabs....
A yard each of faux suede from Barbara Lewis' booth.
A grab bag of fun from My Elements.
Pewter toggles from Bead Me Up.
Earring pairs from all the Czech glass strands I bought.
A pendant from Green Girl Studios.
And last but not least, two stamps from PJ Tool & Supply.
So here's how to win ONE of these:
1) Leave a comment below -- be sure you have a way for me to contact you.
2) Get an extra entry for blogging, Facebooking, or Tweeting about this.
Come back on Monday, April 18th,
to find out who wins what!

(PS: I will be away from the computer most of tonight and through tomorrow, April 12th, so don't worry if your comment doesn't show up right away -- rest assured it will get through!)

ReplyDeleteOh man, am I jumping up and down! Love all those goodies. I am so heading over to check out the owls and coffee mugs. I am so sorry that you had to miss your class. I suffer from occasional migraines and I can't even imagine dealing with them on a regular basis as you do. And to still be able to create such beautiful pieces of art.
ReplyDeleteOh and please enter me for the goodies.
I shared this post on FB

isn't that the way it goes - you always spend more than you planned at a bead show. You picked up some gorgeous stuff. I just loved the owl beads and the green girl pendant. I hope your headache is better - I know what a migraine can do to you but at least you had all those wonderful beads to bring you solace (lol). I wish I could have been there.
ReplyDeleteJUST in the door from Spain! Photos of my blue bracelets tomorrow and when I've posted on my blog I'll stop back here. But in the mean time, please put my name in the giveaway hat! And I'm off to twitter about it too (songbead) :-) SOunds like you had a good time for a least some of the big Bead Fest - I'd love to get to one of them one day. Hope you have recovered from your MG - sounds like a killer - I get them too (though nowhere near like you I think) and my heart goes out to you Lori.
ReplyDeleteI love all the goodies you brought back to share! I hope to one day go to bead fest myself. In the mean time take care of yourself. I know how horrible migraines are. I get them too.
