52 Bracelets

I was excited to get the email announcing the pre-order opportunity for BeadStyle's "52 Bracelets". I'm extra-excited because I have a bracelet in it!

If you click here, you'll see some of the pages that are in the magazine, and mine is on the "Wood Beads and Gemstones" page. As soon as the magazine is published and I get the bracelet back from the publishers, I'll have it up for sale on my web site.

There will be more tutorials coming up this year, but I'll keep those under wraps for now!

On another note, you'll see on the right hand column that I've started to Wreck This Journal. I am a VERY Type A person who also has a healthy dose of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and while that worked quite well for me when I worked in Organic Chemistry lab or while studying for MCATs, it's another thing altogether when you're an artist trying to branch out. I'd seen several bloggers using this book as an exercise, and thought I'd try it.

Today's random page was this:

OCD people also tend to be a little bit germ-o-phobic, but I promised I'd do what the book told me, so I bit a hole in the page, chewed once, and promptly spat it out.

I have no idea what that did for my creativity today, but we'll see.

  1. Congrats on being published :) It looks like you are having so much fun with the Journal. I'm looking to getting one pretty soon, it looks like so much fun!

  2. That's one of the funniest things I've ever seen--how did it taste? I'll have to buy one now to see if it helps my beading-hey, whatever works!

Pretty bracelets,as well! Can't wait for the magazine.

  3. Congrats!!! Great bracelets!

  4. Congratulations on being featured. And congrats on the joining the "Wreck This Journal" phenomenon. I've done a few of these myself and it's been challenging - I, too, am very Type A with OCD tendencies. I often describe my art as "therapy" =)

  5. My kids and I are starting the Wreck this Journal together! Fun!
    Enjoy the day!

  6. I had never heard of Wreck This Journal, but I'm intrigued!

Hey, congratulations on the magazine! That is so awesome!

  7. I am thrilled for you on having your bracelets in the magazine. Yipee! And I wanted to tell you that I bought a typewriter like that to use for a centerpiece at my husbands book signing party. I still have it and I love it. I drag it out of the garage when I change up my book shelves, usually in winter. Your post made me want to see it again. Loved the pics of the tree! Hugs, Diana
