Jesus is a Girl

Today I asked Zack if he knew why we celebrated Easter. He's been going to a Wednesday night youth group at church so I figured he'd be well-versed.

He started a rapid-fire litany of the Easter story, but I was puzzled ... he kept referring to Jesus as a "she".

I cautiously said, "You know.... Jesus was a man."

He looked befuddled.

Zack: "But he has long hair!"

I guess they missed the pronoun portion of the Easter Story.

As you giggle over that, I'll leave you with a picture of Zack celebrating his new iPod. No, we did not spend that kind of money on a six-year old -- Rick won it at his office at Christmas, and since Zack already had way too many Christmas presents as it was, I saved it for Easter. He's elated that he can now watch Phineas and Ferb in silence.

So are we. Ah, silence.

Happy Easter to everyone!

  1. Oh what a cute story! Maybe the little card I posted will help Zack is so sweet giving the bread of Life to the Children. I think Jesus looks like a man there?

Thank you for the wonderful comment...I know one of my girls would love to come to your home.

  2. I think his logic is pretty sound.

  5. LOL! I love kids , you really get the best material from them , don't you? I posted a convo of my kids on my blog - it was pretty funny too if you'd like to come read that one.
happy Easter Lori , and enjoy the silence :)

    Just found your blog....

  9. haha -- that reminds me of when I was expecting my second daughter many years ago and was due mid-January. It was right before Christmas and my mom asked my first daughter, then 2.5 YO, what we should call the new baby girl and she kept saying "baby Jesus."

I appreciate comments! Thank you for contributing to the conversation.
