Book Review -- "Drums of Autumn"

(If you haven't noticed the cool new thing on the right side --- you can now see what book I am reading RIGHT NOW! Neat, huh?)

With a week in bed, I've had a bit of time to read (less than you'd think, though -- you get really sick and it's all you can do to stare at the ever-lovin' ceiling). I finished another of "The Outlander" series by Diana Gabaldon, this one "Drums of Autumn".

I don't want to spoil the book for anyone because I really REALLY hope you will read them and love them as much as I do. But I will say that I was prepared not to love this one as much as the first two, but again, I was amazed and swept away. The first two books were faster paced, but these later books really settle in and tell a good story. I learned quite a bit about pre-Revolutionary War America, and kept falling deeper in love with Jamie and Claire.

I started "The Fiery Cross", which is the next-to-the-last book in the series, and I have no idea what I'm going to do when I'm done with them all. I know it sounds silly, but after investing thousands of pages and many hours into this series, I can't quite imagine being DONE with them.
OK, fine. Call me crazy. But I'm loving these books.

  1. I love the Outlander series too, but I got behind after the 4th book. (I found it a bit tedious.) Maybe I'll have to catch up!

  2. LOVE the Outlander Series! Once you finish you should check Diana's website every now and then. It has great information and little tid bits.
