Catching Up!

I had a bunch of people wondering where I was as I hadn't posted in a bit -- just been super busy!

I had a show this past weekend in Occoquan, VA, and it's easily the most difficult one of the year to set up and tear down -- narrow 1700s roads, tight booth spots, etc. I met the BEST people there this year and got a lot of good ideas for the booth (going to be making new table drapes, for one) but logistics, holy cow. Anyway, here are some photos. I used a lot of pottery I painted and flowers all over. And the majority of the jewelry I showed a few posts back sold before I had the chance to get them on the web site, which is always nice.

Zack got to stay with a friend this weekend and loved it. He got to go to Chuckie Cheese for the very first time (sorry I missed it, but probably best for my headaches!) He was a really good boy -- so proud of him!

This weekend we head to Connecticut to visit Colin at Yale, and I get to spend time with my friend Jen -- you MUST check out her web site (just click here). Then the following weekend, I have a home jewelry party on Friday and a Breast Cancer Survivor's Tea on Sunday. I was really honored to be invited to that, as I will be one of only four vendors at that special event. It's a private affair at the Maryland Country Club and I'm really looking forward to it.

I read a book last night -- Siddhartha by Herman Hesse, a definite classic and Pulitzer Prize winner. I got through it all in one day, as it's not that long. I'm amazed that this book about enlightenment, spiritual journies, Buddha, aescetics, and ancient India was written by a German! Quite a book.

I just started "Postcards from the Edge" by Carrie Fisher and I'm only a few pages in and I know I'll really love it. Some of the ways she expresses herself, the words she chooses, make me think, "Oh, exactly!" and I love that.

I have more in my stack of books that I just picked up at the library, and my friend Heidi just sent me a million books (like, 30 or so, but it felt like a million when I picked up the box!) and lots of stuff in there that's peaking my interest. AH, books.

OK -- I guess that about catches us all up!
