house plans

It's about that time -- when Rick and I moved here in 2002, we planned on this house being our five-year-house, meaning, we'd get debt free and then either buy or build our dream home. Things have been going really well for both of us with work and jewelry, so we've started looking. Several things are in the hopper, but one of them is Kent Island or Annapolis, to get Rick closer to work (the 70+ each way commute is getting old). One of the things we're looking for is studio space for me, either attached to the house, or to buy separately, as a stand-alone store. Here are some of the plans we've been looking at:

Yucko on the color, but it's just an architect's rendering, not the color we'd go with! I've always loved the idea of a big, deep front porch.

And then there's this one, which is a little more traditional:

It's so hard for me to believe that this is quickly becoming a reality. Doesn't seem like that long ago that I was either renting a tiny apartment in an old converted house in downtown, or living in my first house, which was really only big enough for one person. Funny how things turn out... I remember all too well stressing over paying rent while going to college! If I knew then what I know now -- hmm.
