Etsy Finds -- The "I Have a Cold" Edition

I have a cold.

I've had a cold for about two weeks now.  It appears to be quite happy here because it will. not. go. AWAY.

Shoo.  Or should I say, a-choo.

Yesterday's blog post took all day to write because I kept drifting so today I'm giving myself a pass and bringing you Etsy Finds -- The "I Have a Cold" Edition.

From ZJayne
When I'm sick, I love nothing quite as much as crisp, clean, fresh-from-the-dryer sheets.  My indulgence?  Major-high thread counts (once you sleep on 500+ thread count sheets, there's no going back, baby).  These cool dryer sachets are filled with lavender, which promotes sleep.  Exactly what I need right now.

Eucalyptus candle by Sawgrass Candles

When I don't feel well, I like a hot bath and the smell of eucalyptus.  Bath salts don't always agree with my skin, so a candle is an awesome substitute and a great way to unclog a stubbed ub nosthe.  (did you get that?)

from Pomelo Press

I don't have cool pajamas.  I sleep in cool t-shirts.  My favorites are the ones that are super-soft, like they've been worn and washed ten million times.  And my question -- do you sleep in socks?  Because you know I am really, truly sick when I wear socks to bed.

by Mark Hudak

And of course, I need something by my bed to hold tea or water.  Nothing better than something in my favorite color, purple.

I hope you liked this edition of Etsy Finds!  Now, off to bed with Nyquil and a couple of cats to keep my feet warm.

  6. I sleep in long T-shirts too. Plus socks occasionally when my feet feel cold. If they feel very cold, I have a furry covered tiger hot water bottle instead. I can't sleep if my feet are cold. Socks and a T-shirt look very glamorous when you get out of bed ... nearly 30 years married, I think he's used to it now! :-) Hope your cold is soon better.

  9. There is truly nothing more frustrating than a cold that will not leave. I hope it hasn't settled into your chest or your sinus ... but pampering yourself and "drifting" with things you love is the way to go.

Love what you shared here (that mug is amazing!) .. all good things when you need to be good to yourself.

  10. Poor baby! Do you have a hot water bottle? No, really. Wrap it in a towel and cuddle with it. Also, Eucalyptus oil in a diffuser, on a hankie close to your pillow or even in steaming water (lean head over boiling water with towel over head like tent) can help.

Hugs and healing vibes sent out your way. Shoo cold, SHOOO!

  16. I'm sorry to hear that you're sick. That is no fun....especially when there are many things to get done! Thank you for commenting on my glass blowing post. I know what you mean about making "heavy" pieces. I like to call mine "flintstone-ware"! But I am progressing....slowly....
    Hope you feel better soon!

I hope you feel better soon. It stinks to be sick. Too much stress from our Bead Soup? Next time you might need to load up on vitamins going in. I bet the cats like it when you hang out in bed.
    Good wishes

  20. I can sympathize- I've had a sinus issue for the past couple of weeks and the drainage is making me sick! Can't wait till it's gone!

No socks for me but absolutely on the T Shirt to bed!

And don't get me started on good sheets, I might cause an uproar! I don't know how people can spend so much money on a car or other frivolties (is that a word, lol), that they spend less time using but will buy cheap sheets where they sleep for 6-8 hours! Mama taught me right, 500+ is all I'll do!
Go enjoy your good sheets and get lots of rest and water!

  43. I'm sure you'll get a bazillion suggestions on how to fight a cold so here's the real truth-- just keep letting those cats sleep on your feet. Cats absorb cold germs, transmute them into healing vibrations and voila! your cold is gone! Seriously-- feel better!! I found that Meyers Clean Day air freshener in geranium to be a great aromatherapy aid to the bedroom.
