More Vintage Things I Love

In my last post, I talked about some of the vintage things I've collected in my home.  Today I'm going to show you some of the vintage things I'm in love with that unfortunately belong to other people (and I'm pouting about that.  No.  I'll be nice.  Wait.  NO.  I'm pouting.)

Source.

Source.  Seriously, if anyone has vintage tins to sell, email me!!!!

Source.  I imagine this as the kitchen to my Writer's Cabin, my getaway in Maine, my unwinding space.

Source.  I have a pearl one from my grandmother.  This one is from the '50s.

Source.  And my Great White Whale, the thing I just can't find -- the pink typewriter.

I must own one.  Yes.  I must.

I hope you enjoyed my vintage wishes (and seriously -- vintage tins? I'm all over that with cash money -- I have a cabinet full of them, looking just like I opened an old soup kitchen in my office) and maybe one day, I'll find that pink typewriter, or that cabin in Maine where I'll write the Great American Novel, or have an occasion and a dress that calls for a glitzy glam collar, or go back to the good old telephones that you actually DIALED.

Sweet dreams, everyone -- I'm off to my vintage-pretender of a tub.

(That's my actual tub, by the way! The only thing I asked for during our entire home renovation.)

Lori check out my latest blog post. Once my shows start for the season (April) I can actually get at my trailer full of stuff and the shelves behind the trailer in the barn and possibly find some tins I have for sale.

We had one of those turquoise rotary phones when i was a kid!! It had the prong plug, too! And I can see it, in my mind's eye, with the little paper circle in the middle of the dial with our phone number typed on it. Thanks for helping me recall a great childhood memory. :)

Oohh, I just love that tub! I will keep a lookout for the tins. I've never seen a pink typewriter, that was a new one on me.

I have an old black phone that dates back further than this one. Can't get it hooked up to the new phone system, unfortunately. Love your tub!

we have a fiftie's dial telephone from my parent's house. I love it...but it is black! The sharpe is a little sharper.

I understand your love for pink, totally however--as you may have figured out by now! :)

i love your vintage stuff...and that phone? oh yeah. love it!!
when i was in high school, we lived in a house (for a very short time) that had one of those tubs and i truly hated leaving it behind. just taking a bubble bath in that made me feel just a tiny bit more...decadent.
i love that, too!!

I love your finds. And that phone, I love it and the color. My dad used to work for the phone company and that brings back memories. What a great post.

Everything is cute but that tub is awesome. If you only got one thing out of the renovation that was a good one!

Great finds, Lori. I love that blue phone - in that exact shade. And my all-time favorite was the pearl collar...and alas, it is already sold! :-( I have been eyeing them lately on my antiquing jaunts. So nice that you have your Grandmother's. I can just see one of those fancy pieces with a simple cardigan. :-)

Oh, man! I had a huge collection of old tins and sent them to Goodwill or Salvation Army in one our moves. If I'd known you then, you could have had them all!!

We still have a rotary phone like that one, except not in as great a color. All the neighborhood kids used to beg to use it. It's great to have when the power goes out...still works ;-)
