A little bit random

Today  is a little bit random.

* I have 112 emails in my Inbox that need attention as I was out of town a couple of days.

* I'm very distracted and sad because one of my best friends, mentor, and surrogate mom is critically ill.  She and her husband both have been fighting cancer and now, now she has pneumonia.  That wouldn't sound so bad except she also has congestive heart failure and is allergic to most medications that will help her.  She's won SO many battles.  So has her husband.  They've beaten SO many odds.  I pray she'll beat another one.

* Even though the holiday season is essentially over, I've still been making custom jewelry.  I'm busy, but I'm still finding myself wandering into my bedroom hours before bedtime and reading, reading, reading.

* Our living room furniture is still not here.  Nope.  Ordered in October.  Promised in November.  Postponed yet again just yesterday until January 9th.  This time, Rick asked if the furniture even existed.

* A stocking full of chocolate + lots of naps + snow + no gym = hatred of zippers.

* I'm looking at the clock and thinking I'm not good right now for much else other than a bath and a book and bed.

  1. Bath, book, bed, once again we are both on the same priority schedule. So does the furniture exist? This seems a wee bit on the ridiculous side of waiting. I am so sorry about your friend. I'll say a little prayer for her. Hugs

  3. Ha! They told us it DOES exist, but I have my doubts. If they delay us again, we're going to Delaware (a state over, and a solid hour drive away, if not more) to find another store, but we aren't hopeful of finding what we want. That's what's sad -- we found EXACTLY what we wanted at Ashley -- but now, since it's been so long -- I can't remember anything about it other than its color.

Im so sorry to hear of your close friend. All those battles has to be really draining. Sometimes in my life my point of view Ive just got to hand it all over to the Lord when all seems to fail and we just cant understand. I hope all will be well for her. Thats so sad...bless her.
Back to the furniture..you should ask for some compensation for all of their broken promises and misery!

  10. I can relate to the bath, book and bed part of things. My husband was convinced we needed to go skiing for new years, I said "Not unless skiing is code for spa!" I need to rejuvenate!

I am sorry to hear about your friends and hope they both pull through it all ok.

  12. The best things are worth waiting for, they've given scandalous customer service but I would hang on a bit longer if it is perfect for you. Anything else is going to be second best - you have better things to do with the time than go shopping again! :-)

A Happy New Year to you, your family and especially hoping for good news on your friends' health.
