A New Cup of Bead Soup -- Tropical Blonde

Today I welcome in a new Cup of Bead Soup for the month of October.  Join me in greeting

The Cup of Bead Soup premise is simple -- I send money to an artist and they send me beads, sight unseen, for me to design with.  This way, I hope to push myself outside of my comfort zone, experience new processes, and introduce you to wonderful bead artisans!

Kathryn makes polymer clay beads, and she sent me an interesting assortment of goodies.  Let's see what we have here....
I particularly like the plump round beads -- those will be fun!  I also like that these beads are matte rather than shiny.  Blue and brown is also a great color combination, don't you think?

I love this color combination -- rosy pink and brown!  Kathryn also makes faux stone with her polymer clay, and included this faux stone donut to work with.

These are also in her faux stone line -- faux lapis lazuli.  I've got some ideas for these.

Lastly, these polymer clay pillow puffs of cream, purple, and jet black.  Very retro cool.

I hope you'll visit Tropical Blonde's shop and blog (she just had a baby, too!).  Her links are below.  Stay tuned this month to see what I make with these beads!

  6. Great group of beads you've gotten to play with! I was just looking at Margie Deeb's color report for Fall, 2010 and that second group of beads looks exactly like her recommendations for the colors Chocolate Truffle and Living Coral. Awesome!
