The Day in Bead Points

So, what's been going on in my head today? Instead of bullet points, let's use beads, shall we?

"Shades of Gray" by Churn Hill Glass

Zack's assessment at the private school appeared to go well -- thank you all for your well wishes here and on the lengthy post at An Artist's Year Off.  We hear tomorrow if it's a go, and if it is, he starts on Tuesday!

I'm very excited about a new Bead Soup Blog Party challenge going on in the BSBP forum -- we're going to be trading a piece of jewelry that hasn't sold for whatever reason, and the recipient is going to remake that piece into something else!  Doesn't that sound cool?  It'll be fun to see what the other person's interpretation will be!

If you can't wait until January for the next official Bead Soup Blog Party, click here and join the forum -- we do swaps and small challenges and it's a great way to keep your creativity sharp!

"Raging Waters" vessel by High Waters Studios
I'm excited about my show this weekend at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis, MD, but seriously, seriously bummed that I won't be able to meet my blogging friends at ArtBliss, being held this weekend in Northern Virginia.  Maybe next year?

"Berry Extraordinaire" by Liliana Bead

My new headache medicine is not kind to the waistline -- it's one of those that assists with packing on the pounds when no packing help is needed what-so-blipping-ever.  Yet.  And yet.

Sigh.

I am craving pie.

(But my favorite is coconut cream.  Ohhh my.  Pie).

  1. @ least that kind of pie is easy on the waistline! I, on the other hand, brought cupcakes home for mom, aunt & myself just because I was on that side of town & I could!

  2. That's why beads and jewelry are so wonderful - they don't care how much pie you et ;-)

Love the idea of the "re-make" swap - that sounds like so much fun.

  3. Are you going to post the remake swap? I know you are already so busy but I would love to see all the remakes!
Oh the dreaded meds and waistline issues! If being older doesn't make it hard enough, the meds double the pounds! I hate it!
Keeping my fingers crossed for school!

    Hugs

  4. Hi Kristen! The swap is taking place on the forum, rather than on my blog, but people can and probably will be posting their reveals on their blogs. In the forum, the swaps are more laid back with no "you must post by this date" deadlines.

  5. we will miss you this weekend, but good luck on the show! Sorry about the meds, but if it makes your headaches better, then have some pie :)

  6. Busy, busy, busy. I think you deserve a slice of coconut cream pie after the crazy week you've had plus this weekend. It may not be good for the waistline but its good for the soul and the soul knows best :) Let me know when you're in PA and we'll meet for pie.

  7. Oh Leslie, and you KNOW the best pies are in the little diners on the back roads of PA, or in the Amish markets there!!!!!

  10. Have a great show! I am so bummed that I can't get to ArtFest.
We aren't so big on pie over here - but I had a yummy plum/nectarine crumble last night...

  12. I was always told that if I was craving sweet things that I should sniff some vanilla-scented oil, as it stops the cravings.

Gonna head over the forum now - this swap should be fun!

  13. Hi Lori,
What beautiful beads. I so love art beads but rarely know how to put them into something as beautiful as they deserve.

Someone asked Kat and I to join the Bead Soup Challenge the last time and we were busy. Is this the same thing? We would love to be part of it.

I can sympathize with medications and waistlines. I am on many for fibro and RSD (another pain disorder) and I have craved sweets for twelve years. I am still probably forty pounds higher. The only thing that helped was going on the South Beach Diet and cutting out all sugar but as soon as we got to Prague and starting eating what we wanted, I was a dead duck. It is so hard. I am sorry! I can also sympathize with the migraines. I have spells periodically. My whole nervous system is oversensitive.

Anxious to hear more about your son and the private school so I will read on.

    Hugs,
    Suz

  17. I know what you mean about unfriendly meds. My doctor has me on one that was packing on the pounds. Then after Saje's surgery, he needed to loose weight so we tripled the vegies in our diets and I started loosing the pounds. Don't know if that would work but it might be worth a try.
