The Beader's Creed

1. Though shalt walk through the entire bead show once before buying anything.

2. Unless, of course, you see something you can't resist.

(Libby Leuchtman beads, my first stop at my first Bead and Button years ago).

3. Though shalt not covet thy neighbor's haul.

4. Though shalt stroke the pearls as they are good.

5. Though shalt break out the plastic, as you did not bring enough cash.

6. Though shalt share thy haul online with your beady friends.

(My own beads from a bead show a long while back.)

7. Though shalt repeat as necessary. Or as often as a show comes in town.

And that's just a few!

Happy shopping (and remember The Beader's Creed)!

(and a little PS - I ALWAYS break Rule #1. Always.
Spank me with a strand of tourmaline.)

Rule 1 is overrated! Although I have only been to 1 show it is awesome!

budget, schmudget! I've gone every year to B & B for the last 5 years....I've yet to adhere to any of these (except stroking the pearls!)

See there, you were wise enough to add the small print to rule #1! Boy I could use a good bead show too!

I hope thats not your real Debit/credit card number for some unscrupulous person to see.....

I love it!! I have to say with rule #1 the exception is that one (or 2-3) vendors that you go to first because you're so excited to see them at the show. I have to share my latest haul from a couple weeks ago. Oh where is the time??

There is NEVER enough money for the show, and I think it gets harder each time to follow the rules! But it's so much fun!

I do try to stick to rule #1, but it never EVER works out! There's too many goodies to pass up from so many talented people. :)

Oh heaven's no, Anonymous, that's a stock photo of not even a real credit card of ANYONES.

If I obeyed Rule #1, I would forget about the ones I passed up by the time I got back. But, I supposed that could be good for the pocketbook!

I'm usually pretty good at following rule #1. ;) I've never been tempted to break out the credit card either... until this last bead show when I picked up the most stunning strand of glittering white topaz. OMG. I had a hard time leaving that one at the show, lol. :)

Love It! Bead Fest Philly is just around the corner and I keep repeating to myself, "I DO NOT need to buy any more beads, wire, or tools until I go to BeadFest!"

Hey Lori - you are so witty!! This one really made me smile...I think we can ALL relate! I don't see the Gem and Jewelry Show on here...maybe one day I'll make it to one of the bigger ones (B&B??). I'm not too bad with Rule #1...

I could have used rule #1 when I visited the Tucson Bead Show a few months ago! Being a newbie beader and not having much of a budget limited my purchases, but certainly not my enjoyment! I'm already saving for next year's show!

Not only do I always do rule #1, I sometimes even go on the first day as soon as possible, then go back on Saturday to make the purchases!A trip back to the beadroom once you know what is out there can really help,& no, I've never missed out on anything I really wanted when I went back!

I was going to say good luck making it through without buying anything. i could never do that LOL. Love the Libbyleu beads..thanks for sharing the link!

I long ago gave up on Rule #1. Not only is it hellishly difficult (and cruelly painful) to comply with, but the only time I succesfully did it...I came back to the first booth I'd passed on the way in to find out they were sold out of something I'd really wanted. After that, my motto became "buy it before someone else takes it all."
