Jewelry and Books

Hey guys!

I'm slowly coming back to the land of the living. I'm gutting it out because I'm tired of being tired and in bed all the time and today even managed to drag myself to the gym AND put in a regular jewelry-making work day, which did wonders for me. Of course, it's RAINING again (cue another headache) so no photos but suffice it to say, I've been working with lots of color, including some of my own beads that I've made.

One of the good things about being under the weather is I've been able to finish a bunch of books. I'd been reading a bunch of books about the royals (the Tudors, to be specific) but jumped forward to WWI ("All Quiet on the Western Front") and WWII ("Clara's War"). Both were excellent books but sobering -- they really made me appreciate what I have and how lucky I am to have it, and made me realize what occurred should never, ever happen again.

Right now I'm reading a book that has my full attention, "The Help".

I just started the book today but am finding it hard to put down. I love books like this, books that completely take the mind away from whatever else is going on around me.

I hope to have pictures of new jewelry up soon, and oh hey, the new web site AND a new Etsy store for beads will be open soon as well! So stay tuned!

  7. Happy to hear you are feeling better. Reading when down is great. A little escape from reality never hurts an artist. In fact it is something we need a lot of in order to allow our imagination to flow. Keep feeling better- I can't wait to see more jewelry! PS Bead

  8. Hello fellow reading fan.....I need to pick up a copy of "The Help".....sounds like a great read. You would probably like "The House on Tradd Street" by Karen White and "The Accidental Bestseller" by Wendy Wax. Those are 2 of my favorites. Right now I'm reading "Waking Up in the Land of Glitter" by Kathy Cano-Murillo. She's on the DIY Network a lot. Hope you can stop by my blog & say hi! I love to hear from fellow bloggers!
