Sometimes Happiness is .... Shoes

I had a neurology appointment over the bridge and took the opportunity afterwards to stop at the mall to look for socks. Simple pink socks. You would have thought I'd asked for socks with three toes in stripes of purple, orange, and chartreuse with a bit of lace and oh yeah, a pom pom thrown in, because there were NO pink socks to be had.

But Betsey Johnson had a sale on thigh-high funktastic flower-and-stripe socks.

Never one to pass up the shoe department, I took a quick look, and like a beacon from above, my eyes were drawn to the latest Limited Edition Danskos.

Blue Patent Python (of the not-real-python variety). I fell in love. Not because they look like a snake, but because they glow almost purple in places when the light hits them, and because they are just so..... funky. And I do love funky shoes. These are a this-year-only edition, and are available in pale yellow and light green.

Then I had to get a pair I've been longing for for ages. I always said, "No, not now," because I wear a lot of blue, pink, and purple, and thus had nothing to wear with ....
claret red patent leather. But I do have one red sweater, and have plans for more red, and hey -- who says I have to wear black shoes with black outfits? Live a little.

Yes, happiness has many forms. Today, its form was shoes.

Lori Anderson uses a lot of color in the jewelry she makes. You can see it at www.lorianderson.net.

From SO styled blog:
"Red is a "pseudo" neutral, Vava. That means that it is not a neutral, like Black, but that it can coordinate, and stand up to, a very wide range of colors. The shoes, as we have learned here, "stand alone."
"Red patent, particularly, because of the shiny texture, stands alone well for almost all ensemble colors (except a print with small red elements, like cherries.) The red shoes are so strong that they compliment a print dress in a very bold way."
i believe this..i really do

Enjoy your shoes! I hope the neurologist can get to the root of your migraines and if there's a problem that is's easily dealt with.

Well I admit they are a little too bright for me. I was attracted here though by the socks. I have this sock fetish. Just joking. I did think this was about socks though and had just bought 3 pairs of toes socks myself.

I had to laugh when I read "over the Bridge" as that is what we say here in Panama City Beach when we go into town (Panama City). Our bridge is not even a mile long and but it is a mental thing. You are going from laid back beach to up tight town. All the shopping used to be in town and you did everything in one day so you would not have to go "Over the Bridge" again for while. Even though we have grown and have shopping on our side of the bridge it is still a mental effort to go over the bridge to town. Your bridge sounds like even more of a mental effort.

Oh and I love the shoes!! And I do have a of of pink socks that I love

I would be surprised to find one female who does not get the allure of shoes.
I started a new job and I'm on 90 days probation. I already have a pair of shoes in my online cart which I shall purchase when/if I pass, as my reward. Of course they are not fun girl shoes, but special "I work 8 hours on my feet" shoes but still, I got shoes on my mind!

Believe it or not, I never even heard of Danskos!!! I'll admit I'm with SharonP...Born's all the way...I own a zillion pair - they are so comfortable! I'll have to check these out.

They look super comfy and rather flash! I often wear brightly coloured shoes with jeans in winter, adding a bit of colour to the grey day!
