Butterfly or Moth?

I have no idea if this is a butterfly or a moth on the Star Gazer Lily, but whatever it is, it's lovely. It was slowly flapping its wings the entire time I was taking pictures, so I was lucky to get one half-decent shot.

Enjoy!

Lori will probably use this shot as inspiration for some of her jewelry creations. See more of her work at www.lorianderson.net.

I say butterfly. Not because I actually know, but because butterfly is just a cheerful word, don't you think? In any event, that is a beautiful picture!!

What a beautiful photo, your so clever. Looks like a butterfly to me, too pretty for moth.

That picture is wonderful!!! I'm wondering how it would work as a Scrabble Tile Pendant? (I'm obsessed w/my resin stuff right now )

It's a beautiful beautiful butterfly. Moths have furry antennae, but don't count them out - they are also gorgeous creatures!

What an incredible photograph! You caught the butterfly right at the perfect moment. And Zack's picture the other day is so sweet...gotta frame that one for your studio. :-)

It's a black swallowtail. It was probably fanning it's wings slowly, drying them off after just recently emerging from it's chrysalis.

My dad used to take nature photographs and one of his subjects was the life cycle of butterflies.

Nature is very cool!
