Back from the show

I'm back from the show, and promise to write a more interesting post soon -- but fighting another round of migraines. Anyone else get these and have a good remedy? Imitrex just doesn't seem to be cutting it. I may have to cave in and take another shot for it (blech).

More soon!

  1. I get them much more frequently now than I used to. Try making your feet very warm to draw the blood down to them while at the same time putting a cool compress around your neck and the base of your skull. I used Excedrin Migrane last time and while it didn't provide complete relief, it took the "edge" off and the migraine didn't continue more than the one day -- which was a joy! Good luck.

  2. Hmm, I heard that a cup of hot water with lemon juice helps to lower blood pressure, so it could help a little with the migraine. It works for my moderate headaches, but I never tried while having a migraine.
    Good luck :)

  3. 1) a silk scarf around your neck.
    2) a cup of strong hot coffee with the juice of 1/2 a freshly squeezed lemon. NO sugar or milk.
    3) while you do the above, lie down in a dim room. Avoid bright light! 1/2 an hour to 1 hour will do the trick!

  5. Sorry to hear you have them again :( I use a feverfew and sandalwood ointment on my temples which can help if you get it in the early stages. You could try some Bach Flowers Rescue Remedy to help you relax?

  6. I'm sorry to hear about your migraines. My neighbor has migraines and sees a headache specialist in Pittsburgh. They drive from Charlotte, NC to Pittsburgh just to see him.

  7. Sorry to hear about the migraines and hope that you feel better very soon. Wish I could offer a sure-fire cure, but I don't know any. Once you're back on your feet, I'm anxious to hear about your misadventure with the sign-thrower!

  10. Sorry about the migraine ... I'm wincing in sympathy. I used to get them ... about 40+ years ago. I have no idea why they stopped - just thankful that they did. You have been a busy girl. Can't wait to hear/see more about the show (hope it was wonderful), the beads for the earrings are divine, and glad you picked up another Penman ...isn't she wonderful?!
