The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger
rating: 5 of 5 stars
This book made me sad on a bunch of levels. Holden is obviously so messed up in side, but he has a deep love for certain people and things, and his way with words spoke to me -- like if only someone would pay attention and HELP this kid, he'd be something amazing.
But the "there is definitely something wrong with him" aspect of the book can certainly give you a sense of forboding -- if someone doesn't help him out, something bad is going to happen.
Certain words were used over and over again and that distracted me from time to time, but not enough to make me put the book down.
If you didn't read this in school, try it out now!
