This meant the traditional race about town picking up candy for the stockings (I did that). It also meant delivering jewelry across town for customers who needed last-minute presents.
It meant the cooking of an exquisite meal -- this year featured Gruyere mashed potatoes and sausage stuffing (Rick, Ryan, and Colin did that).
It meant the opening of the Christmas Eve Present -- ornaments for everyone except Zack, who already got his ornament when we did the tree, so he got a game -- Qwirkle, which is loads of fun, and a game Zack has been longing for for a long time. It was one of the many things he circled in a catalog, so he was having conniptions when he opened it. (Breathe deep, Zack, there's more to come!).I just kissed the piglet goodnight, and Rick is tucking him bed, and now I prepare to wrap all of Zack's presents and then join in a game of Trivial Pursuit with the rest of the family.
Life is good.
