A Night Out!
Rick and I got to go out tonight and tried a new restaurant called General Tanukis. FABULOUS. Every single thing was wonderful, including the Mai Tai I had that made me WHEEEE buzzy. Awesome place, and of course, great conversation with Rick.
Came home to great news on my email -- I've been juried in to a prestigious show that is by invitation only. Instead of the normal process of sending in an application and THEN having the jury look at slides and decide if you're a fit, they do it the other way around -- they won't even send an application until they see your photos. I did it on a whim, not expecting to get in (but you always have to try, right?) and couldn't believe I made the jury, especially as they only invite 28 artists. Now I just have to rush the application in -- I'm a little late, and they only have one space left for spring and two for fall. Keeping my fingers crossed, and more info as that one unfolds.
Still reading "The Historian" and it's still as interesting as ever. The book is HUGE, 656 pages, but I'm GLAD it is, as it's so riveting I don't want it to end. This is one of the reasons I love weekends -- I can stay up late reading and then (more importantly!) SLEEP late the next morning!
